Rufus Giwa Polytechnic: Finalist drowns while swimming in River

A student of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Olagundoye Oladotun, has drowned in a river at Igbekebo, the headquarters of the Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The HND 2 Mathematics undergraduate was said to have gone to Igbekebo for the burial of his friend’s father on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

According to a source, the deceased went to the river with the friend, identified only as Gboyega, and some others, to swim, when he died in the river.

He said, “He (Oladotun) and some of his friends went to the river, but he was the only one that put off his clothes and jumped into the river. After some time, he could not come up again.”

The source added that the corpse of the victim was found by the Marine Police in the town four days after the incident.

It was gathered that Gboyega and three other friends had been arrested and detained at the Special Investigative Bureau of the Ondo State Police Command for interrogation.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, adding that the command had commenced investigation.

He said, “The report we have is that the deceased followed his friend to a jetty in the town and he put off his clothes and jumped into the river. He told his friend that he was a good swimmer. But some hours after he dived into the river, he did not come up. His lifeless body floated in the river after four days of intense search. His friends are helping with investigation and autopsy would be conducted on the body.”

The PPRO noted that there was no foul play suspected in the death of the polytechnic student.

The remains of the deceased were said to have been deposited in the morgue of the Ondo State Government Hospital, Ode Irele.

Download Real University of Ibadan Post UTME Practice questions and things you need to know

First of all, we will like to clear the air about the University of Ibadan Post UTME past questions.  U.I does not release its post UTME questions to students after the exam and hence it doesn't have any real/official Post-UTME past questions . Our Research has shown that some persons/platforms post things like "University of Ibadan Post UTME past questions since 2010, some since 2008 etc, while some even sell it for fee around #1000. We advise all U.I aspirants to desist from all of that as it is just a mere business tactics. We are not saying they are not past questions, but they are not University of Ibadan Past questions, which may be dangerous for your preparation. The only thing University of Ibadan has is the officially released Post UTME   Practice questions , which was released for 2015/2016 Jambites on the official school website as at that year. We have helped you retrieve some of them, which can be downloaded below. As we all know there was no Post UTME last year

Latest UI 2017/2018 Admissons- University of Ibadan takes its stand on announced Jamb Cut off mark

On the Recently Announced cut off Marks of 120 for University Admission: our position in UI: By Sunday Saanu - Media Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan      The Management of the University of Ibadan wishes to inform the public about the recently announced cut off marks of 120 for University Admission that UI will not lower her standards.      A statement from the Vice Chancellor's office indicates that the Nigeria's premier university still maintains her position  in academic excellence and standards in order to continue to aspire towards becoming a world-class university.      It should worry us as patriots that candidates who scored just 30% in UTME can be admitted into some of our universities. Yet, we complain of poor quality of our graduates. You can hardly build something on nothing. The consolation here is that since JAMB started conducting this qualifying exam in 1978, UI has never admitted any candidate who scored less than 200 marks out of
